Lots of great events at Next Stage this month. We began with an outstanding April 1 show from Cheryl Wheeler who was so gaga about the theater renovation that she wants to come back SOON. and we’re good with that! Then, on April 8 we had a day of recording and an evening Dance Party with our favorite New England Zydeco band – Planet Zydeco.
On April 16th we have a strong Next Stage Speaks evening with Moth Radio storyteller Peter Aguero plus the host of NPR game show Ask Me Another – Ophira Eisenberg.
Friday, April 22 brings Rhythm Village with four local world fusion composers: Derrik Jordan, Eugene Uman, Tony Vacca and Jim Matus for an eclectic evening of music from around the universe.
On the following night, Saturday April 23rd, Next Stage and Twilight music host a Celtic / Americana double bill featuring Cantrip and Low Lily, two musical groups that also include local artists.
Then, on Sunday the 24th, Next Stage welcomes the celebration of Green Writers Press 2nd Anniversary with readings, discussions, and book signings at 5:00pm – Author Howard Frank Mosher hosts the evening.
On the 4th Thursday of April – the 28th – we have the monthly Dinner (at the Gleanery) and a Movie (at Next Stage). This months host is screenwriter Tim Metcalfe, who will introduce and Q & A about the Coen Brother’s film “Barton Fink” Sounds like a mighty date night, right?
We’ll end the month on April 29th with the band that won the Brattleboro Battle of the Bands – Nomad vs Settler. Fresh from their recent recording sessions at Guilford Sound, NvS promises an exciting evening of original music.
