We are delighted to offer a final Thai cooking class taught by locally renowned Aew Ladd. Aew is well known for her delicious Thai food served at the Putney Farmer’s market each week, as well as her catering. After living here for 27 years, Aew will be returning to Thailand as soon as her house sells. We will miss her!

This is a hands on class where we will cook, dine, and have fun together.

In this hands on class you will learn everything you need to know about making pies from Taylor Burt. Taylor is a nutritionist, former pastry chef & educator with a particular lifelong passion for pies. After working in fine dining at various locales across VT, he found his calling in working directly with people and their food.  He is very excited to help students overcome their fear of pie and/or expand the repertoire of even the most experienced baker.

The class will be making 5 varieties of pies with different crusts and toppings. You will leave this class with all your questions answered about making pies, and will have the confidence to make a host of pies for the holiday season. Students will bake and dine together, and share in the leftovers to take home (if any)!

NEXT STAGE COOKS – Yule Log Baking Class

A “Yule log” (Buche de Noel) is a traditional dessert served near Christmas,
especially in Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Quebec, made of sponge
cake to resemble a miniature actual Yule log.

Ann-Michele Klug made her first Buche de Noel for French class as an twelve
year old and from that moment knew she was on to something. After
graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Ann-Michele was a pastry
chef in three and four star restaurants, worked on several cookbooks, and
decorated wedding cakes for Sylvia Weinstock. She and her husband left
NYC for New Hampshire (with baby in tow) to make chocolate and breathe
fresher air. She has trained professionals, given adult cooking classes, and
taught enthusiastic children.

Ann-Michele will show you first hand how these beautiful and delicious
holiday treats are made. This is partly a demonstration class, with some
hands-on work as well.
