Treating Trauma in Adolescents: Development, Attachment, and the Therapeutic Relationship.
This book presents an innovative and empathic approach to working with traumatized teens. It offers strategies for getting through to high-risk adolescents and for building a strong attachment relationship that can help get development back on track. Essential topics include ways to involve parents and other caregivers in treatment.
Brattleboro’s own Marti Straus will host a reading from her latest book: Treating Trauma in Adolescents: Development, Attachment, and the Therapeutic Relationship. Afterwards we will engage in a free wheeling discussion about the challenges and rewards of treating—and raising—teens today. Books will be available for purchase and signing!
MARTHA STRAUS is a professor in the department of Clinical Psychology at Antioch University New England. The authowww.http://marthabstraus.comr of several books and many articles, she presents internationally on child and family trauma, development, and therapy. Marti also has a small private practice in Brattleboro.
