Next Stage Arts presents a poetry brunch as part of its ongoing literary series, Next Stage Speaks, on Sunday, November 5, at 10:00AM.
After editing the new Vermont anthology of contemporary poets titled Roads Taken, Contemporary Vermont Poetry, Chard deNiord and and Syd Lea discovered that there are many fine poets throughout Vermont who have yet to publish a book but have published poems in literary journals. Next Stage Arts Project will host a reading for poets from Vermont who have published poems in literary journals but have yet to publish a book. This reading will take place at Next Stage, 15 Kimball Hill, (nextstagearts.org) in Putney starting at 10:00 a.m. and a light brunch will be served. Poets will read in alphabetical order.
Next Stage Speaks is hosted by poet Chard DeNiord. There is a suggested donation at the door of $10.
Chard deNiord is the Vermont Poet Laureate. He is the author of numerous books of poems, and a book of interviews with seven senior American poets. A co-founder of the New England College MFA Program in Poetry, he works as a Professor of English at Providence College and lives Westminster West.
