March Happenings at Next Stage

Robin MacArthur and Tyler Gibbons

Welcome to the March Heads-up from Next Stage! Here’s a quick run down of what’s happening at 15 Kimball Hill in the heart of Putney VT. We rang out Feb with an outstanding performance by Caravan of Thieves, and will open March on the 4th with Next Stage Speaks. VT Poet Laureate Chard DeNiord hosts Robin MacArthur and Tyler Gibbons of Red Heart The Ticker for conversation, readings, and music.

On Monday 3/7 we have another film in the ONSCREEN: Elections series, THE BEST MAN. The rest of the series includes NO!, from Chile on 3/21, and WAG THE DOG on 3/28, all hosted by Vanessa Vadim and Paul Van Winkle.

The Sweetback Sisters

March 10, Twilight music brings the always popular Sweetback Sisters to Putney for a night of country, swing, honky-tonk and old-time music – always a great show, not to be missed!
In mid-March we welcome the first Apron Theater Company production in the renovated space: OTHER DESERT CITIES, by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Karla Baldwin. This powerful family drama plays on March 17, 18, 19, 20 and 24, 25, 26.

Peter Galbraith

We close the month with Dinner and a Movie on March 31. This monthly collaboration with our friends at The Gleanery combines a great meal with a thought provoking movie, followed by a conversation with a knowledgable host. This month’s film is  CONTROL ROOM, hosted by Windham County VT Senator (and possible gubernatorial candidate) Peter Galbraith.
