Next Stage Arts Gallery Call To Artists

The Gallery at Next Stage welcomes portfolio submissions from artists seeking to show their work at the Next Stage Performing Arts center in Putney, Vermont.

Application process:
To apply, artists should submit a Statement of Interest, an Artist Statement, and at least 10 images of their work. Portfolios will be reviewed by the gallery committee and judged for their aesthetics, originality and creative vision. There are no deadlines for applications. New exhibitions are installed every three months.

There is no entry fee for applying to show at The Gallery at Next Stage.

The Gallery:
The Gallery at Next Stage is located upstairs, in the lobby of the Next Stage theater. The gallery will be open to the public during events and performances at Next Stage. The artist is also given a key to the gallery for the duration of their show for private appointments.

Liability:
Next Stage Arts will give the greatest care for artist’s work while it is in the space; however, it is the responsibility of the artist to insure their own work if they wish. The Gallery at Next Stage will not be responsible for any loss or damage to work while on the premises or in transit to or from the gallery. Upon acceptance, artists will be asked to sign a waiver to this effect.

Eligibility:
Open to all artists. Priority will be given to artists in the greater Putney community. The gallery is best suited to 2D media — including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings, printmaking, collage, photography and digital media. If an artist is interested in putting on a performance (video or live) connected to their show, please include this in the Statement of Interest.

Sales:
Artists may sell work shown in the gallery and agree to pay a 25% commission to Next Stage; this commission also applies to post-exhibition sales generated by showing at the gallery.

All entries must be submitted electronically. Judging will be done only from JPEGs or website links. No other formats will be accepted. JPEGs must be 72 dpi and at least 600 pixels but not greater than 1200 pixels in either direction. Maximum file size for any individual image is 1MB.

    File naming:
    JPEG images must be labeled “LastName_FirstName_01”, “LastName_FirstName_02” etc.
